Beginning September 1, 2026, Inuvik Gas Limited will increase gas distribution rates by $10.00 per gigajoule for residential, general service and government customers.
• $45.44/GJ for residential and general service customers (rate one and two)
• $51.00/GJ for Northwest Territories government customers (rate three)
Billing is based on actual consumption, so the impact will vary depending on how much energy each customer uses. To understand your estimated impact, we encourage you to review your past bills and compare your typical seasonal usage.
The $10.00/GJ increase reflects the cost of strengthening the system and maintaining reliable service. $5.50/GJ supports the cost of expanding propane storage capacity by 75 per cent, while the remaining $4.50/GJ supports ongoing costs of running and maintaining the system needed to keep the system reliable.
